With nobody filing for office, one Scambler Twsp. board seat will depend on a write-in

Clarification: Todd Langseth and Phil Rotz are running for separate town board seats. They are not running against each other.

There will be a blank spot on the ballot in Scambler Township on Nov. 3—with only two candidates filing for three seats on the town board ballot.

Todd Langseth and Phil Rotz, both longtime members of the board, filed for re-election. But nobody stepped forward to sign up for the third seat. Consequently, Scambler will be dependent on voters to “write in” a name for the third seat, noted Township Clerk Dee Stephenson.

Scambler has a five-member board: Nancy Hebert, Robert Seifert, Rotz, Langseth, and Peg Gilbertson.

Voting hours at Scambler Town Hall, located north of Pelican Rapids on Highway 34, will be 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 3.
